Located approx 20 kms east of Limssol on the south coast of Cyprus Zygi is the most famous fish producing area in Cyprus. Zygi has many professional fishermen and also many amateurs. The major quantities of fish are absorbed by the local fish taverns, and the remainder is sold to the market. There are about fifteen fish taverns which operate both day and night on weekdays and weekends. One can enjoy fresh fish straight from the fishing boat.

Beaches swimming fishing nature trails and wineries. Close to Limassol and Larnaca and both provide a variety of things to do for both children and adults. The busy little fishing port of Zygi supplies the 20 or so speciality seafood restaurants in the village, as well as the outlying regions with the produce it has become famous for; fresh seafood. An illuminated 130 metre pier, previously used to load carobs onto waiting ships for export to faraway lands, is today used for nothing more exciting than mooring the village's many fishing boats
